Grace Chen hosts private fashion show on board the Qatar Executive G650 Private Jet

As celebrity guests of Qatar Airways, Grace Chen joins the Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, Bollywood star Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and jewlery designer Beau Han Xu to open the 2019 Doha Jewlery and Watches Exhibition.

The exhibition was officially opened on Wednesday 20 February by H.E. Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani; in attendance were the Minister of Finance of the State of Qatar and Chairman of Qatar Airways Group, His Excellency Mr. Ali Shareef Al Emadi; Qatar’s Minister of Transport and Communication, His Excellency Mr. Jassim bin Saif Al Sulaiti; Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, and other VIP guests.

Qatar Airways Senior Vice President Marketing and Corporate Communications, Ms. Salam Al Shawa, said:

What better way to highlight Grace and Beau’s magnificent designs than to showcase them against the backdrop of a Qatar Executive jet – the epitome of luxury and refinement."

Chen showcased 8 signature pieces, paired with jewelery from designer Beau Han Xu. Six Fashion KOLs from around the world joined them for this whirlwind experience.

"My inspiration mostly comes from the stories of women, how she feels about herself, and how she sees the world. My design always reflects the Inner Landscape of a woman’s heart, no matter whom or where she is from. In my "Solitude" collection, Persian patterns were woven into the signature Chinese embroidery, Combining the influences from Chinese calligraphy, I created a style that is neither Western nor Eastern but reflects a blending of cultures, "nowhere yet everywhere" at the same time. As we travel around the world with our Fashion Travel series, I believe this is a global trend and is the true spirit of modernity. It is also what we aspire to at Grace Chen. I’m delighted to share some of my works with such a distinguished audience in Qatar.” ​

Beau Han Xu is an internationally-renowned artist, gemologist and award-winning jewelry designer. His first collection, Splash!, featured organic crystal cuffs, chokers, tiaras, and rings where diamonds shimmer and swim within.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is one of India’s most popular and influential actresses. She made her acting debut in 1997 and has since appeared in more than 40 films in five languages.
